Five Star Shellfish Inc.
Five Star Shellfish Inc. is a raw molluscan shellfish processing facility that processes Oysters and Quahogs. They are an International Shellfish supplier that services Canada, United States and select European countries. Five Star Shellfish Inc. has been in operation for over 25 years and is family owned by Wyatt, Gordon, and the late Troy Jeffery of Christopher’s Cross, PE. The boys come from a fishing family and are very proud of their full-time and seasonal staff of 15 – 20 people. It just goes to show what hard work and family can do over 25 years.
Five Star Shellfish Inc. operates under the Quality Management Program and provides food safety assurance through stringent HACCP Controls and regulatory standards. The company is regularly audited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Five Star Shellfish Inc. takes great pride in the quality and safety of finished product they provide to their customers all over the world.
The team at Five Star Shellfish Inc. are dedicated to sustainable harvesting and preservation of wild fish stock. The shellfish are harvested daily from the clean, pristine waters of lease sites that are carefully managed all year round. Five Star Shellfish Inc. have developed and operate numerous aquaculture leases for breeding and growing oysters making them a highly qualified shellfish supplier.
Our Facility
Our Head Office and Main Processing plant are located on a section of Milligan’s Wharf in the beautiful Conway Narrows area of Prince County, PE.
In Memory Of
Troy Jeffery
1969-2016
Troy grew up surrounded by the fishing industry and carried a true passion for the water and the shellfish that came from it. Along with Wyatt and Gordon, he helped build Five Star Shellfish from the ground up, spending long days on the water harvesting oysters and working to create a business that supported local fishermen while bringing quality PEI shellfish to customers around the world.
His knowledge of the tides, the rivers, and the oysters was a part of what made Five Star Shellfish what it is today. Troy’s dedication to sustainable harvesting and producing a quality product helped shape the values that continue to guide the company.
Although Troy is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in every oyster harvested, every order shipped, and every person who continues the work he was so passionate about. The Jeffery family’s commitment to the industry, their community, and the waters of PEI continues in his memory.
